Comprehensive Cross-Border Guidance: Japan & Canadian Healthcare
Japan maintains some of the worlds strictest pharmaceutical customs laws under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW). Medications containing stimulants (such as Adderall, pseudoephedrine over limits, and ADHD amphetamine salts) are strictly illegal in Japan, carrying severe criminal penalties upon arrival. Certain non-controlled maintenance medications may be imported for personal use in amounts not exceeding a 1-month supply. Canadian export bans also apply to all controlled substances.
